The fine folks over at Read2Review.com reviewed Eden and gave it 4.5 stars (out of 5). Check it out here.
Thanks Stephanie!
In case you missed it, they also did a mini-spotlight on me. That’s here.
I was also recently contacted on Facebook with the question[about Eden]: “Where did you get the idea for it? Factual Bible history? Artistic freedom?” (I’m paraphrasing)
My answer:
Gosh, I’m not sure where the initial ideas came from. Koneh is straight from the Bible (I *slightly* altered his name from the original language, tho not nearly as far as King James). Erzulie is a “real” spiritual figure in many cultures (look her up!). And most of the rest of it is my own warped mind: “okay, what if some of this stuff I’m reading was true – how would it *really* work if I applied science and my own take w/out trying to control a populace?”
Yes, yes — my work has already been publicly labeled “sacrilegious”… I know and I’m fine with it.
Though, so far, I haven’t been smote (correct usage?) for altering The Revelation like the Bible warns… maybe my days in Hell are just accumulating (like points on my license). I’ll let y’all know how it turns out.
